Hot Laminators are the most common form of document lamination and use heated rollers to apply a laminating film or laminating pouches encapsulating the document.
The laminating process creates a professional end result both protecting documents and at the same time enhancing the colours of photographs and also inkjet & laser prints. Laminating pouches are available in a variety of widths and thicknesses from ID cards up to A3 size.
The thicker the film, the stiffer and more durable the laminated item will be. Some laminating pouches are identified as being "low melt", these require less heat and are used for laminating materials that are sensitive to high temperatures, such as photographs.
Roll laminators are commonly seen in schools and print shops. Roll lamination is suitable for high volume lamination and lamination of large documents or posters.
